GOOD FORTUNE 2020 / 2021
Some Japanese Flowers from Kazumasa Ogawa, an 1896 book of hand-coloured collotypes, from the J. Paul Getty Museum collection, inspired Ailanto's creative directors to create their own archive of plants and flowers.
Ogawa's prints prevail as beautiful captures as well as an example of the perfect use of photographic printing processes, which he pioneered, combined with his delicate use of colour.
To create the "Good Fortune" collection they also looked at pagan myths, wishes, odes to happiness, fortune and with them they propose a new collection of prints based on all of those.
Poppies, dandelions, shooting stars, clovers and fireflies are the protagonists in the compositions, which bring us closer to “Good Fortune”.
