Ailanto builds its Autumn Winter 2019/2020 collection of Optical Art. Combinations or repetitions of shapes and patterns are the basis of the movement. The compositions are formed from geometric figures supported by the repetition of linear or chromatic elements.

Time and movement are actively integrated into Op Art: The first because the duration of gazing a work depends on the different visual versions that can be taken from it and the whole work needs a minimum time of contemplation; the second because the optical effects are reduced to illusions of an apparent dynamism.

Optical works exist as generators of perceptual responses not so much as stable objects. They can dance, blink…they become unstable, they resist being captured in a definitive way.
